An illustration for Popshot literary magazine, to accompany a poem called ‘The Toxicity of Tartrazine’. Tartrazine is a synthetic food colouring, which some believe has adverse side-effects. I wanted to convey how what might appear natural and beautiful at first can actually be artificial and harmful - so I created a candy-coloured world of poisonous and carnivorous plants, and monstrous scales. Available as a giclée print.
